The mother of the young girl who was killed Thursday night trying to cross the street said Friday it all happened in a split second.
Six-year-old Lydia Lynch was hit by a car after running out from between two parked cars. She died at the hospital a short time later.
Her parents said they saw it all happen. They were right behind their daughter when all of a sudden, she darted into the street. "I know you can't say in writing how great a child is, she was that wonderful child and don't know how I'm feeling I'm just here I wish it was me and not her," said Emily Deason, Lydia's mother.
Sheridan Police said the accident was still under investigation and they were in the process of reconstructing the scene. But it appears to have been an accident.
